Controlling the Hero3 Black in still mode on Phantom 2

This is probably an obvious question to answer but for some reason can find a straight answer; even DJI customer service won't give me a straight answer but said they can't promote 3rd party accessories.

Simple question...I want the ability to control the shutter release on the Hero3 Black connected to the Phantom 2. One would assume that the AVL58 Video Transmitter would allow for it connected to an FPV monitor....but. I'm looking to have a good FPV allowing for the most control I can have over the Hero3 too if anybody has good suggestions. And of course it would be connected to the Phantom 2 with the Zenmus H3-2D gimbal.

Any help would be awesome

Quadzilla. Thanks for the answer. Makes total sense and the intervalometer seems like a pretty easy way to get "the" shot I'm looking for. Thanks again!
