I'm fairly new flying my P3 4K. I fly using my iPad. The P3 didn't come with a cable to connect the controller to my iPad, so I've been going cable-less and I've had no problems. The connection is apparently Wi-Fi only. Two questions:

1) Is wireless okay or am I flying with a weaker connection?

2) If I must have a cable between the controller and iPad where can I buy one?

Thanks in advance.

You can only connect the remote controller via Wi-Fi.

Be sure to check out the Phantom manual. It covers this topic as well as many other important things you should know before attempting to fly.

Thanks. But that doesn't explain why I see others flying Phantoms with cables between their controller and iPad. Is that only for older models?

Well, you didn't ask that question ;)

Only the P3A and P3P use a cable to connect the remote controller to the mobile device.

Aha! Not all P3s have the same interface. Thanks.
