Seems odd that I got that at 650' straight up. I also got this at 750' away at 120' up. Both times I managed to bring it back in but seems like it should go farther. I was testing how far I could go with this thing and had those errors, any idea what causes this? I hear two beeps when I turn the controller on so I am set for long distances. Everything is fully charged as well. Bought mine early December from Helipal. One thing I noticed right out of the box the camera # started in the 500's. I wonder if they sold used birds.

Phantom 2 V3.6 everything stock
14 satellites, good wi-fi

what way is your antenna facing on the transmitter when you are flying??? If the end of the antenna is pointed towards the phantom you will not get good range at all being not much signal come out of the tip of the antenna and you want the side of the antenna facing the phantom. and a real common mistake

Lots of variables but geometry is the main one.
Straight up is the trickiest position for good signal and will always give you signal loss before other angles would.
