Connecting P3pro to ipad mini3

Hi all. Happy New Year.

I have a new P3pro The remote is slightly different from my old P3 remote. No large USB port just a small firewire ??
I have connected the ipad wirelessly to the remote but it seems a bit choppy. Does anyone know if I can connect with a wire from the pad to the controller.
I have a cable that suits but it seems to still be connecting via wifi.
Any info appreciated.

Sounds like you either don't have a P3P or you don't have the correct RC for a P3P.
What's the model number on the back of your RC?

Looks like you don't have a P3P as I suspected. You probably have a P34k. In that case, the WIFI connection from your RC to your iPad is all you will be able to do.

OK Yep you are correct it is the 4k model.
So the only way to connect is via wifi.What is the mini usb for?
This unit does not seem to have the range of my old p3 either any ideas.
