When reading articles or watching online supposed DJI drone experts, many will tell you that you need to rotate the Phantom counter clockwise when calibrating the compass. Others say to rotate it right. Does it matter?

All that matters is that you rotate through the full 360 degrees.

Not that I'm doubting that at all but in the tutorials it specifies anti-clockwise and on the display of calibrating it shows anti-clockwise. Hmmm it may not mean a thing, but it makes sense to do it as the manufactures say.

Do it in whichever direction you wish.

Some spin the a/c about the sensor, others hold waist-high and spin their body.

It makes no difference and that is what is important.

I always go ccw with quad at arms length. Don't think it makes a difference. Only time I had a fail on compass calibration was when I held it close to my body and had a 1/4 inch magnetic chuck in my pocket.
