Compass location

Does it matter where the physical.location of the compass is mounted on a phantom 3 standard? Or will it function normally mounted at any spot on the aircraft?

I haven't tried moving the compass, but it looks very much like DJI placed it as far from the active components to avoid electromagnetic interference.
