Just saw DJI's P3A Protection Plan and it's $200 FOR A SINGLE YEAR!!!
:mad::mad::mad::rage::rage::rage:

So, are there any other protection plan services that will cover the Phantom?

Neary offers a few options (see them all here). However, they are similar in price to DJI's plans.

:sweat:
Still way too expensive...

Learning as much as you can about the way the Phantom works, keeping away from trees and buildings and making sure to come home with a comfortable battery reserve works for me.

Still, the unexpected can happen. (e.g. Hawks taking it out of the sky, crazy hillbillys shooting it out of the sky, solar flare disrupting Compass/GPS, EMP built by the Russians, etcetera.) Good piloting is not a good replacement (no pun intended) for a replacement plan.

Most drone flyers could fly for 10 years without ever having any of those happening.
Sometimes you just have to take a few chances.
Check any insurance policy and you'll find lots of things they don't cover.

And don't worry about solar flares, their potential to affect Phantoms is an over-hyped myth.

What about a MEGA-SOLAR FLARE.

When and if, the effect on your Phantom would be the last thing on your mind.
So far there has never been a documented case of solar flares or geomagnetic storms having any noticeable effect on Phantoms.
But is it possible? Theoretically?

But aliens. Your forgetting about aliens.

Fortunately my homeowners policy doesn't have an exclusion for aliens. Or zombies.
