Channel hack on ipad air2

I think I should try the channel hack in an attempt to fix my lost video problem. My limited understanding is that it allows you to use less crowded channels to transmit the video during flight. How is it done on a ipad air2? I'm not that knowledgeable on anything fancy with computers so give me the easy way if there is one. Also, is it reversible? Looks like a rainy weekend here so should have time to really mess things up. Thanks again all.
