Cant update home point

Was flying today off a boat and was not able to set home point after takeoff. Also the dynamic home point was not working either.

don't know about the new firmware, because I am still using 1.1.9 until the beta testers on the forum finish the tests and we see what the results are. I would thoroughly test it land based and see it you can get it to work with this upgrade.

Ipad mini 3 no gps but hooked to hotspot

Without GPS in the iPad the controller doesn't know where it is at. Hotspot WiFi just allows you to get maps related to the P3 GPS location. You will need a device with GPS, or a third party GPS receiver - I have seen some posts about a bluetooth unit, but can't think of it right now. Should be able to search for it later.

Not a cell version. But did try with iphone 6 and can not update either home or controller position.
