Can't connect wifi on new controller

Hi All
I just received the new controller from DJI. I bought it for the gimbal control knob. But I can't connect via wifi. Do I need to bind something? BTW - I threw away the **** box. Sure hope there's a way to do this without a QR code.

It has nothing to do with the wifi.
