Calibration ?

Hi do you need to do the compass calibration before each use . Today was my second time using my Phantom vision and after I had switched everything on I look at screen on my phone and it was showing that I had picked up 9 satellite's . I hadn't even done the compass calibration ?

50/50. Manual indicates that you don't have to calibrate unless you are flying is a different geographical area. Some follow this advice. Others calibrate before every flights.

Personally, I'd follow the manual.

The number of satellites you lock is dependent on the GPS (mounted in the top of the shell inside the Phantom), doesn't really have anything to do with calibrating the compass (mounted near the bottom of one of the legs).
