i recently got my h3-3d Boscam 400mw. I got the 3 leaf omnidirectional antenna from banggood for the transmitter but only got 1 of the 4 leaf antennas for the receiver. So I had my maiden voyage today using 1 of the factory supplied antenna on the receiver and one of the 4 leaf omnidirectional antennas I got from banggood.

My first flight I was up about 80 meters and flew a little over 600 where I started to get feedback. The color was going white and the screen was beginning to flicker.

So my question is this. Will I have a dramatic improvement when I receive the second 4 leaf antenna for the receiver? I was under the impression I could get around 2000 meters with his system.

I understand that those antennas are nothing special so I can replace them down the road, but first Id like to get some impressions.

Any input is much appreciated.

You will get no improvement in having 2 antenna the same on your receiver. Consider an omni directional antenna of a good make as your 2nd rx antenna. You will need to keep it pointed at the Phantom, but you will get further distance. Cheap antennas = poor performance. Better too with a matched set of 3. The higher the db the better. Yes, thank you. I figured that out last night after i did some research. So my followup question is, should i spend the 110 for this http://fpvlr.com/shop/index.php?route=p ... uct_id=106

or could i get away with just purchasing the helical? I'm thinking I may as well bite the bullet and get the kit. In speaking with Tony, i should be able to get 3km with his kit and the boscam ts353.

My recommendation is to go for the best you can afford, you won't regret it. Fpvlr are good!
