So apparently running a video transmitter, specifically an ImmersionRC 600mw, is NOT recommended with a Black Pearl Monitor setup that supports 32 channels. Is it just the Immersion Tx products (ie not flysight or boscam), that have this issue, or is the 7 Channel only mode recommended in all instances?

There has been some reported issues, but mine works fine. I use 5800MHz and it is spot on, with solid video and at least 1000 metres range @50m.
I think the issue might have been with earlier versions, where the displayed frequency was slightly different to the one it was actually tuned to. The 7 channel version has a simpler tuner and did not have these problems.

So why ares the ImmersionRC tx products known not to work well with the Black Pearl? If I have a choice, should I stick with Flysights own instead?

Probably safer, but as I say, mine works fine. I bought the monitor first, then upgraded the TX. I was also concerned, but have not had any issues personally.
