You should leave it on.
Poor mobile device screens and bright conditions makes it difficult to see if you over exposed your shot/video. The GO app software detects overexposure and helps and makes sure that your whites aren't too white. Generally speacking, in post editing, it's easier to recover from an underexposed image than an overexposed image.
