I have yet to see someone try and bind the newer, P2 controller (built in battery, rate-mode pot meter on corner, etc) with the original phantom. I don't see why it wouldn't work, and would love to try it, but I along with most people cant spend $100 on something that wont work. My p1 controller stopped working, and its $95 bucks. If the P2 controller works fine with it, then ill just get the new and improved version.

I'm not sure about the compatibility but if it is here's a good deal on the new NDJ6. In the description in Woody's link, it states that the NDJ6 is compatible wih the P2
