Best way to power FPV transmitter?

Would it be better to add a small battery to power a 200mw 12v transmitter or connect to the Phantom battery? Obviously, flight time will be reduced either way. Is there risk connecting to the Phantom battery? If the transmitter shorted out could it bring down the Phantom? I have seen some tiny 3s batteries that weigh only 28g and provide 350 Mah. Would this be adequate for the transmitter?

Just use your on-board 3 cell LiPo. Connect using the balance plug using the first and last pin being careful to get the polarity correct. Your 200 mw Tx won't use much of you battery's power.

Or use tweezers and grab the aux line from the grommet in the landing gear.
