Best setup for antenna

Im looking for the best way to position my antennas on a custom drone using the lightbridge 2. Max range iv had is a little over 400m id be happy with 1km is there something im doing wrong, will it ever be as good as my phantom 4 ? Im new to this so please take it ezy on me [emoji2][emoji2][emoji2]
