Hi! I have Phantom 2 with Zenmuse H3-2D and GoPro Hero4 Black camera.

I want to set up a FPV system, can anyone suggest a good system to use? Is this something I need to buy parts from different websites / suppliers or is there a kit that will provide everything?

Hoping to find something without having to solder and not looking for goggles.

I have heard that the skew planar antennas are awesome, is that the case? I also came across this system who someone on a different website suggested but this was the only response. https://www.firstpersonview.co.uk/compl ... ntom-2-fpv

I joined this website looking for more options, feedback.

Thank you in advance!

Tons of threads answering your exact question. Please take some time and browse the forum. Here is a good place to get started: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=26413

Hint: your shopping list should include a transmitter, monitor with built-in receiver, plug and play cable, iOSD Mini, and monitor mount. Upgraded antennas are optional, but highly recommended.

***There are many kits available, but you can piece together your own kit and it will be better and cheaper.

If you want to go gogles, you might want to get a immersion vtx to go with the iosd. You can get get a ready made cable to connect everything without soldering a wiire

You can do the same with the Boscam TS353.

TeamAguilar: yea skip goggles, most of us use little 7" FPV screens with 5.8Ghz receiver built in. You'll almost certainly want some sort of mount for mounting the display to the RC... get one of the 3d-printed ones that moves the receiver a little further away from the transmit antenna, as opposed to the little metal bracket which clips onto the front ring of the RC

On the Phantom side, there are plug and play cables so you don't have to do any soldering. Check out the "lowest prices on FPV components" stickythread here in the FPV forum, feel free to ask questions

skew planar antennas aren't really "awesome" although you're on the right track that antennas are very important and pretty much THE factor for FPV performance... even more important than the transmit wattage. If you only want to have FPV within a few hundred meters, then a cheaper set of omnidirectionals will work. If you want to get real distance like anything approaching or over 1km then you're going to need at least 1 long range directional antenna on the receiver side, like a helix. That's why around here we pretty much recommend the FPVLR antennas... he has a bundle which gets you 3 premium antennas for a very good price, 2 omni's (1 transmit 1 receive) and a helix long range directional receiver antenna. check the stickythread for more info :)

Thank you for the info, ok so here is my list of items to purchase. How does this look?

1. FlySight 7 Ch Black Pearl 5.8Ghz 7" Diversity Monitor with Integrated Battery
2. DJI iOSD Mini On-Screen Display for Real-Time Flight Information (Black)
3. ImmersionRC 5.8Ghz Audio/Video Transmitter - FatShark compatible (600mw)
4. 5.8 GHz FPV antenna kit for the Phantom 2 from FPVLR.com
5. DJI Monitor Mount from Rave

For the FPV, am I missing anything? Will this plug in or require soldering?

Option I plan on buying,
1. Gopro Zenmuse Bracket H3 3D from Shapeways
2. GoPro Zenmuse H3-3D Gimbal Transport Lock from Shapeways

Thank you in advance, great forum. Very helpful!

Save yourself some money and go with the RX-LCD5802 monitor/receiver and Boscam TS353 transmitter. If you're set on the IRC 600 for whatever reason, then at least save on the monitor and go with the 5802.

For FPV, you're missing the plug and play cable. There is a different one for ImmersionRC and Boscam, so get the appropriate one for whichever transmitter you end up choosing.

The bracket and gimbal locks are nice, but not necessary. I have them both. You may as well get the transport lock from Rave Aerial since it's 50% off when you order the monitor mount. I have the Rave transport lock and one from Shapeways. I like the Rave one better.

Im following this thread as this will be my next step also.
The lowest price sticky is useful but may not work out so well for those of us in the UK?
Does anyone have a nudge in the right direction for a UK supplier?
I also have found the first person view site and this seems pretty good?
Cheers. Ben

Ok so how does this set up look? If I go with Neewer receiver / monitor what about charing it? Seems like this doesn't come with a charger??? Also what cables would I need to purchase for this set up below?

1. Neewer® RX-LCD5802 5.8GHz 7" LCD Diversity Receiver Monitor for RC FPV
2. DJI iOSD Mini On-Screen Display for Real-Time Flight Information (Black)
3. Boscam FPV 5.8G 400mW AV Transmitter Module TS353
4. 5.8 GHz FPV antenna kit for the Phantom 2 from FPVLR.com

Options I plan on buying,
1. DJI Monitor Mount from Rave
2. Gopro Zenmuse Bracket H3 3D from Shapeways
3. GoPro Zenmuse H3-3D Gimbal Transport Lock from Shapeways

Only question I have is the cable I need to use to make this purchase?? I saw something somewhere about a cable I need.

Also to confirm that no soldering is needed. I will solder if I have to but prefer to not.

------
1. Neewer® RX-LCD5802 5.8GHz 7" LCD Diversity Receiver Monitor for RC FPV
2. DJI iOSD Mini On-Screen Display for Real-Time Flight Information (Black)
3. Boscam FPV 5.8G 400mW AV Transmitter Module TS353
4. 5.8 GHz FPV antenna kit for the Phantom 2 from FPVLR.com

You are correct that the RX-LCD5802 doesn't usually come bundled with a charger so you'll need to get one separate. they're usually about $5

the DJI FPV HUB only works with the AVL58 transmitter. with any other transmitter you want the plug and play cable from DPCAV.com you will NOT need to solder anything. You can find a link to that cable in the stickythread.

Assuming you have a H3-3D gimbal, the gimbal plugs into the GoPro USB to both provide power to the gopro, as well as bring video signal from the gopro up to the Phantom mainboard... where you'll tap into it with the plug and play cable, go "through" the IOSD Mini (which overlays telemetry info onto the video feed) and then ends at the FPV transmitter where it's then broadcast for you to receive with your receiver on the ground. no additional cable for the gopro is needed in the setup I described above, only the PnP cable

I have the H3-2D gimbal, still plugs into the GoPro USB?

So it looks like this is the video cable I need - http://www.dpcav.com/xcart/Video-Cable- ... xtech.html

And this is the power adapter http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 1NV1NV0559

I know this stuff seems elementary for many of you experienced pilots but it's pretty foreign for me. It's starting to become more clear though.

correct on both points. As for the power adapter, if you haven't already wherever you buy the RX-LCD5802 almost certainly carries one, unless it's twice the cost just tack it on that order. but that IS the right part that you linked.
