I forgot to turn off. I overcharged my battery for 8hrs, is that alright? Will it affect the battery lifespan?

It's not possible to overcharge your batteries if you're using a DJI battery charger. The battery will automatically stop charging when it's full.

While the battery/charger is designed to prevent over-charging we have seen that there can be problems with DJI equipment.
While the risk may be low one should develop a habit of not charging any LiPo unattended. This is when the majority of reported accidents (fire) occur with LiPos in general.
