Atti mode vs gps mode

Can someone please tell me the difference between these two modes?

Excellent thread. My Phantom 3 is on its way to me - I can't wait. This forum has been great for information as I was deciding which drone I should buy for my first foray into this new hobby.

When I was learning the best words of advice I took was; Get it out the box "indulge" yourself with 30 mins "GPS/p" flying then do the rest of your learning on ATTI/manual flying. It's not if, but when it will loose GPS reception. Therefore if you can fly ATTI/Manual you will be able to get it back home. The add on advice was to; be able to fly accurate figure 8. Start in very calm wind conditions, and no matter how calm the wind seems (2/3knts) still be sure to stand down wind; that way whilst you are learning "the feel" it will drift towards you, not away from you lastly big fields=cheap flying (no expensive crashing into trees etc).. Enjoy.. Take your time and trust your self.. It will be ok!
