Assistant software on a Mac computer

I'm running Lion on my Mac and cannot get Naza-M to open. I don't own a phantom yet. I just wanted to be sure I can access this software before I make the leap. Do I have to have a craft plugged in for the software to open or is something else going on?

Maybe try reading the release notes, it mentions trouble with the MAC operating system.
