I am looking to take photographs from a drone of the wall between the US and Mexico.
I am likely going to fly in the El Paso area.

Does anyone know if there are special rules when flying a drone near the border with Mexico?
Do I need to notify Border Patrol?

Does anyone have experience doing this?

I'd imagine with the surge of sUAS flying contraband from across the border you are taking a significant risk of your aircraft and possible significant inconvenience even if you try to fly in an un-restricted area.

Check the APS for flight restrictions if you decide to go forward with this idea and don't fly something you're not comfortable losing.

El Paso is a great place to fly, I live here. How close to the border do you want to fly? Like on top of the fence? You’ll for sure get questioned. Are you flying as hobbyist or 107, make a difference also? Biggest issue is all the freaking heliports around. But the mountain makes for great photos.

I wouldn't be surprised if they blew it out of the air LOL
