There are multiple threads on FPV antenna's.....just use the search.
Also, you can look at Patch Antenna's-which are directional, and attach to your receiver.

I am trying to improve the quality and range of my fpv

I'd like to know the answer to this. I don't have FatShark spironets. I have generic spironets from eBay that looked adequate for the job and cost 1/3rd of the price. Has anyone done a side by side comparison of brand vs. generic spironets?

These are all 5.8 ghz antennas. The fpv wifi is 2.4 ghz. I see a bunch of people using these antennas with the wifi on the phantom, and I wonder if it matters? If these antennas are in fact OK for fpv at 2.4 ghz, I would like to know?

On the Vision it is, yes, but he's flying a Phantom 2 which will use normal 5.8GHz video transmission.
