First time here. I attached a text file for a P4 flight that I think took a life of its own. is anyone around who could tell me from the flight log what may have happened.
Thank you

Using the Litchi app, I launched the P4 over a small lake from a dock which extended about 12 feet into the water. Tricky environment because of low hanging branches. I was monitoring the flight with an iPad mini and I had the latest updates for hardware and software. RTH would - I think - have brought the drone straight down thru tree branches so I finished the mission about 20 feet out, 20 feet up and switch to atti mode. Great visibility, very slight wind, but drone started to drift and I could not control horizontal flight. Right toggle did nothing. RTH did nothing. I found it in the water by the shortchanged about 60 feet from home point. It was on auto-record but no video was recorded either. On this mission, for the first time ever, I did not calibrate the drone.

That's the file I looked at and it contains no flight information.
There's nothing to analyse there.

On this mission, for the first time ever, I did not calibrate the drone.
This is irrelevant.
There is no need to calibrate anything before a flight and repeated unnecessary calibrations introduces the risk of giving your Phantom a bad calibration.
It sounds like you were flying with Litchi in a constricted area in atti mode and the Phantom drifted away, hit something and fell into the water.
Why you were unable to control the Phantom would be the main issue.
Do you have experience flying in atti mode before this?

I had run the same mission about a week before. Same conditions. A few clouds, very light wind - not enough to explain the drone drift - and I had no problem switching to atti mode and bringing the drone home. One difference - I have DJI GO 4 now (plus Litchi

By looking at the log I can see repetitive attempts to access API's/Services. Wonder if you used GO 4 to check things or adjust settings before flying with Litchi?

First of all,I am so grateful for your help! I do not know how to use flight log to analyze flight. This was a repeat of a mission I made a week earlier. I created the mission waypoints using the Litchi app. Even though I completed the earlier mission using Litchi, I got a notice that to continue to use the DJI P4, I needed to use the DJI 4 app. So I downloaded and opened the DJI 4 app. Was is active in the background? I do not know. I was monitoring the mission on an iPad mini 2. Something was off from the get go because I distinctly recall hearing the iPad announce recording started, however there was no video at all.
Any more thoughts?
Also, What do I send to DJI - Drone, RC, proof of purchase, plus...?

It seems the problem was not with the waypoint mission but happened after while flying manually in atti.

Unless you also started the Go app, it won't have been running.

Talk to DJI's online support people and they will tell you exactly what they need and how to organise it.

Unless you have fully charged your iPad since, you can check in how extend GO app was running by looking at iOS Settings>Battery>Usage by App.

Note also app can still run in background if granted in system iOS settings, until properly wiped out from home button double-click.

Edit!: Just checked and found there is no entry option in iOS for DJI GO4 to run in background, so should held running if you display another app. But with Litchi it's different: can run in background if option enabled so will continue to run if you display GO app at the same time.

From my setup
