Aeroplane mode p3 standard?

I recently purchased a p3 standard and a nexus 7 to use as ground control. Ive seen a few people mention running tablet in aeroplane mode, but does this not disable the wifi as well any guidance on this would be much appreciated.

If you want to fly in airplane mode, go back into the Settings and turn on Wi-Fi after turning on airplane mode.

What is the advantage of airplane mode when flying the P3S?

It's turns off cellular and Bluetooth functions on the device. If you're running a slower device, every lit bit can help boost the performance sometimes.

I understand that most smartphones/tablet use GPS assisted system which require phone signal to work. Does it affect DJI GO app and the quad if we put the phone on airplane mode?

Not that I know of. For Apple devices, GPS will still work even if the cellular service has been disabled (or is not connected).

I am using a Samsung Tablet A (Android). It does not have the cellphone service feature, but does have GPS. It seems to work quite well.
