Adjusting trim to center throttle stick in Futaba 14SG

I installed the spring set to center my throttle stick of my Futaba 14SG. In the Phantom 2 Assistant when calibrating sticks the throttle stick is a little to the left off center when left in the center position. I went into my Sub Trim menu to adjust it. It is now centered at 0 but my limits are -977 to 1000. Is this the right way to adjust the stick? All very new to this and any help will be appreciated!
