tablet gps wifi hotspot

Can someone confirm please - I ordered a tablet without GPS or cell. I have an iPhone 5s with data. When I connect the tablet to the iPhone over WIFI hotspot, will the tablet get a GPS location? I have unlimited data (work phone) so I can stream maps but not sure it eh tablet will get the GPS...
