Fitting mini-HDMI cable into Headplay Goggle Socket

Just got my Headplay goggles from China yesterday (ordered back on Dec. 9 ….ouch). As I've seen posted here and on Headplay.com, the mini-HDMI to mini-HDMI cable I have (and mini-HDMI to HDMI adapters) will not fit into the mini-HDMI socket on the Headplay goggles. There is just not enough room...
