Talking Drone Tries To Lure Kids From Playground

Getting a speaker with clarity able to be heard above the sound of the average drone would be quite a feat. It's either CIA or the woman hears voices in her head. -- zigs

Drone stuck in a tall tree

When you are too high the options dwindle. One of the first things is to ascertain what you're up against. Use another quadcopter to see what the situation is. Unfortunately, it is often the case that the disabled drone has flipped over and the rotors have actually "locked" it into the branches...

    Good read

Don't discount many of these sightings may be drones being launched by threatened homeowners wanting to get a fix on where the fire is burning around them. Their motivation may be totally different than some assume. Doesn't make them right, but fear is a powerful force. -- zigs

Using ipad mini as flying tablet

Mini 4 cell/wifi. Best screen, proc power, location and barometer which works with some apps for altitude.

    Litchi seems a bit gLitchy...

Did you by chance have the rotation direction set "unmanaged" rather than handled by the app? I set to unmanaged once and thought my bird was intoxicated. -- zigs

    Selling P3Pro

If you have a bill of sale, I wouldn't worry about it. Even if you don't, I wouldn't worry about it. Unless it was your little brother. Then I'd worry about it. :-) -- zigs

    pro or pro+

Buy the Pro and use your 7 plus. Maximum flexibility for app expansion, cost less and DJI doesn't have you totally by the short hair. - zigs

Which ND Filters to get for my P3S

Are you willing to consider Tiffen? I have the set for the Phantom 4 pro (also have the Polar Pros for both my 3pro and 4 pro) I love the way the Tiffens go on and the ease of rotating them on/off. I know from years of experience Tiffen makes good glass for photography. Look on B&H. They had...

    No Fly Zone Question

I've had the same experience. I guess we're supposed to get used to it. DJI makes unpredictability a definite reality for 107 pilots. I'm keeping my non-upgraded P3P handy on every mission. -- zigs

    Litchi vs Autopilot!?

Drone Harmony looks interesting. Unfortunately, I'm on IOS. I guess I'm just at a point that to get the shots I want and need I'll never be able to totally trust what a program can do unless I'm willing to shoot, adjust and reshoot. And even then, with changing wind conditions and such there are...

    Litchi vs Autopilot!?

Even though I haven't tried it, I do believe AutoPilot also has that capability. For both, it diminishes some of the waypoint capabilities if used. While all the automation in both is impressive and may be needed, I'm finding I've pared a lot of it out using the sticks for speed control, manual...

    Litchi vs Autopilot!?

Depends on you what you want to do. I have both. If you're serious, get both. AutoPilot has lots of capabilities and a higher learning curve. To start, Litchi is cleaner and easier IMHO. When you boil it down a lot of shots are a few waypoints that allow the app to fly the bird while you...

Did The President ruin anyone else's weekend?

Yes, drone flight was a major issue for the colonials. That's why Washington camped at Morristown, so he could buzz the redcoats. Most don't know the first "Don't Tread on Me" flag had a no-fly zone emblem on it. -- zigs

DJI Is Locking Down Its Drones Against a Growing Army of DIY Hackers

We are increasingly living in a world where we don't "own" things. There are many factors driving this reality not the least of which is the inability of companies to monetize and maintain income. Technology is a powerful force driving it and we're all on the bleeding edge. -- zigs

Can the FAA track your drone and match to you?

Anyone who scoffs at the idea the gov't doesn't have the capability to easily get your flying information is choosing to deny reality. Are hobby drones a high enough threat priority to do it at this time? Doubtful. Nonetheless, we have no real idea how much information is transmitted to DJI via...
