Spectacular landscape!
I am not sure exactly when the RTH kicked in but this is what I see.
She flies over the cool jeep, then she turned and fly (controlled?) over the mountain ridge. There seem to be stick inputs and she is definitely gaining a lot of altitude to get over the ridge at a point...
Thanks! Lots and lots of training is starting to pay of. :-)
Actually I was just contacted by a dude who has professionally flown a monster octacopter for over a year and he was jelous of how well my P2V+ performs.
After 100+ flights with my P2V+ I feel rather comfortable and I trust my bird...
Yes I did have J-hook issus before. But in this case I am trying to film nice arcs to get a spot from different angles. This was near impossible to do smooth before. 3.04 did not like komplex stick inputs. This is better with 3.06. Not sure if the J-hook issue is resolved?
My first test of 3.06 turned out great!
It seems that it flies slower in GPS mode but yet more precisely controlled.
What do you think? http://youtu.be/YHXaKH1zo6Q
I have used RTH successfully more than 100 times but 90% of the times I actually still have FPV that confirms it´s going the right way etc. Before I started to us GPS Plan it hade two close calls when the RTH failed due to loss of satellites (<6) If you know you have set the home point and are...
You can actually get a elevated home point but resetting the hompoint by switching S2 up/down 5 times 20m up from takeoff point for example. Then your RTH will be 40m high. :-)
Very sorry for your loss!
Like a boss you just got a new one right away :-)
PLEASE use apps like GPS Plan and/or http://satpredictor.navcomtech.com then you will be much safer!
Are you sure? Yesterday I tried and got max some 3-4m/s in ATTI 3.04
Definately NOT manual mode. I am using the 3.04 firmware and when I switch to ATTI, it comes down very fast with very little left stick down. If I pull the left stick all the way down it drops like in free fall. Scary...
Just flick the switch into ATTI mode and she'll come down like a brick if you want it to.... Then flick it back to GPS. Easy Peezy
Are you sure? Yesterday I tried and got max some 3-4m/s in ATTI 3.04
Sound like fun. One thing not mentioned when considering long flights/long range is the flight time. The P2V+ will give you much longer flight time. I usually get some 19min active flighttime with my P2V+ and some <10 with the S1000 incl payload. It´s a bit like comparing a good smartphone with...
Thanks for the test. Unfortunately the light conditions are far from identical between P2V+ and the GP. Otherwise the setup was very good. I also don´t understand how the stills and the motion could change angle so much? You really seem to have to skills to pull off a much better test than we...
