Yes, logon to your FAA drone zone account. You can "cancel" or "delete" (can't remember which one) and specify "reason". The AC will no longer appear as active on your account...but will still appear under your inventory.
And the P3P's *do* have an internal log. I picked up a used P3P early...

I use a hand-me-down Samsung Note5 with my P3P's and have had no issues.
Having said that, I last flew one of my P3P's back in late February. I mostly fly with A2s and Mini2.

I had similar issue this weekend with my Mini2 and working with DJI right now.
Haven't had such an issue with my P3P or P3S.
