I know from first hand experience painting a Cisco access point to match the wall it was mounted on hurt the performance. On a 300 access point deployment recently we got a list of paints that are safe to use as well as materials to avoid in sprays. Keep in mind access points run in the same...
Certain paints contain conductive properties that can diminish the RF performance. They are not all metallic in appearance. The trick is evaluating the material safety data sheet which will verify the what's in the mix and of course knowing what to avoid.
You need to use specific paint that does not impact signal profile. We have to paint our access points (I am in IT) and regular spray paint can drop an access point by a significant amount of db.
Not quite dead yet, but soon. The 2 is gone. 3 is next, but I would not be surprised if they release future firmware updates. They sold a boatload of them this holiday and are still interested in reducing the number of warranty claims for at least next 12 months.
If you think about it the...
No problems for me. I will say there has been a steady decline in performance from early few version but it has been minor. I believe it is to reduce warranty issues.
If I had it all to do over again I might have stayed on an early version. Not sure how litchi plays with old fw and I use it some.
I have brought the horses in from pasture back to the barn with my P3P. Some of the horses can be a pain some days and it is a long walk. The drone runs them right to the gate. I do not do it often as I feel like it could affect their demeanor in a negative way over time.
I am on 1.9.6 and it stinks. Not much direction to downgrade except to 1.8.8.
I don't think it is any better than 1.9.6, both seem to reduce range and video performance.
Time for new firmware for the p3p and p3a that addresses problems that exist in the last release. I know due to rapid product cycle the p3 is two models old but what happened?
I have demolished some large bugs, etc with my p3p and have never seen even a slight loss of control. Never heard of a leaf or anything like that causing a drone to drop.
I am rolling perfect with 1.9.60. I have a W323A which is one of the earlier models with the latest revision of motors. To be honest I have never noticed any difference in firmware upgrading from the fairly early versions all the way up to 1.9.60. This is my second Phantom 3, my first was...
Does that not depend on if the work is for profit, and if the final product is for profit.
The reason I mention is that here in my neck of the woods work has been done legally for not-for profit. An example is footage for church.
Strange I upgraded mine from 1.6 and have not encountered the same. I did not do a IMU calibration. I dont do IMU calibrations unless it fails the check IMU or the values displayed are out of spec after upgrades. Not a big fan of IMU calibration in my circumstance as it is difficult to find a...
Loaded zero problems and did a quick test flight. No geofencing shenanigans that I can find.
Did require an update of my transmitter as well. I was on 1.6.
Love the new menus in the latest version of DJI go and some other small changes.
There are some really good suggestions listed already. I believe the most useful lesson that can be presented to the new pilot is what NOT to do with the platform.
Specifically the basics that will get a new pilot into trouble destroying their nice new aerial photography platform. Most DJI...
