Had my P2 for 18 months. Only had one incident a few days after i bought it i flew atti mode into a tree. Luckily no damage & totally my fault. Since then over a year of incident free flying. No hiccups with the P2. It always behaves (touching wood).
No. I didnt touch the switch at all - it was in position 1 for the whole flight. I guess if i was in atti or manual i wouldnt have to move the switch. But as i was in gps I needed to toggle it to get control back?
Thanks for the answer.
Was test flying my p2 last week over some deserted fields. I’ve got my right switch set to manual so the only way to initiate RTH is to switch off the tx.
I tested this during the flight. It went into RTH, came back at 20m high & hovered over the home point - all good so far. At this point I...
I wouldnt remove it. Just practice on smaller cheap quads first. The hardest part about flying a quad is keeping orientated. If you let it get too far away & you become disorientated and start to panic it can seem like everything you do sends the craft further away. Beginners dont think about...
Being able to fly it right out the box is leading to a lot of the issues. My first rc aircraft took months of hard graft & skill to build from sticks & planks of balsa. The building process also educated me as to how it all worked. Then i had to join a club to learn how to fly it safely & pass...
It wouldnt take much more effort in the software side of things to limit the altitude and range to respect what the laws say in each market country. That coupled with a no fly database of airports that was accurate would remove 99% of the possiblility of collisions with full size a/c. In the UK...
I decided to fly manual mode last night just to get a feel for it in case I ever need it in an emergency (have read it may be a possible way to arrest a GPS error type flyaway).
I got it into a hover at about 20m height in gps & then switched to manual. With the throttle stick in the centre the...
Are there any issues with flying the P2 at a height lower than its stored home point? For example taking off from the top of a cliff & then flying down the cliff face? I assume this would just be displayed as a negative h value from the iosd mini? Can the software handle this?
