the closest i had to experience with RC when I got my phantom was watching my dad fly plains when I was a kid. I took it very slow and gentle and did lots of research
we were all newbies once. some of us still consider ourselves newbies... HOWEVER i watched a ton of videos and did a lot of reading before turning mine on. Also, I knew how to turn it off hahahaha
I've had issues with circling a bit when hovering lately but after much investigation I think for me it boils down to limping along on props that need replaced.
Names in this story have been replaced to protect the stupid.
SOMEONE I KNOW (not me... seriously not me I'd never tell a soul if this was me) who we will call Bob bought a brand spankin new 1.1.1 because they liked mine so much. I guess Bob didn't get the package till the evening which...
heliworld has 1.1.1's on sale right now. I'd advise against tethering your copter.... I don't know if people have done it but I imagine if it got sucked into your rotors you'd be sorry especially if you are flying over people... or cement... or tall trees... Take the time to become...

Cape Blanco (the westernmost tip of Oregon) was the only place on the trip I didn't encounter INSANE wind. I later got some footage of the same beach about a mile down at low tide but the fog was so thick and since I am lacking FPV gear my depth perception made for some lame and boring videos...
While on vacation in Oregon the last time I brought out my quad I noticed almost immediately a scratching/grinding sound when the rotors started. When it is off by turning the propeller I can recreate the issue. The sound is coming from one motor. I have not had the time yet to totally take...
I've had similar issues with heliworld and they are only 3 hours away :/ very frustrating when you are spending good money. If I was buying out of country though I think I'd throw any time promises out the window.
Clips from vacation to oregon. I needed new props so it's a bit shaky. Later in the trip I had issues with a motor I now need to replace *grumble* I'm still pretty proud of the video though
