well, more airspace closes to us. Today I went to China Camp Beach in Marin County. I was run off off by the Park Ranger. Turns out drone flight no longer permitted at california state parks.
I did a bad thing. I stored my smart batteries fully charged for 6 months. They showed 4 green lights when I put them in the vision but only flew for 3 minutes or less then landed with the low battery alarm. I have put one of them back on charge and it shows 3 greens so far. Should i charge...
The sputtering sound is probably the gimbel, the fan inside sputters. As for the no start, I had the same problem. it probably has to do with the stick settings on the remote. One of the more experienced pilots helped me fix mine after having the same problem.
My vision is about 9 months old and I have the original batteries. I understand there is a firmware/software upgrade that will drain the batts to 50% or so after 10 days. How do I upgrade the batteries? Thanks
Hi, I just did the 3.08 upgrade, but have several questions. In the upgrade page it lists P330cb and after that it says 1.0.2.7 with a green check beside it. don't know what this is and I it already upgraded? Also, I understand there is some kind of smart battery upgrade that will allow it to...
National Parks, National Recreation Areas and National Monuments are all off limits. Here in the San Francisco Bay area recently, drone pilots have been cited for flying at Crissy Field. It's kind of a shame, all the Bay Area ocean facing beaches from Ocean Beach all the way to Point Reyes...
Yes, the Aquatic Park, Presedio and all beaches from Ocean Beach north to Pt Reyes are under the control of the National Park Service. Muir beach is the only beach that is exempt. NPS has a total ban on drones. They are now enforcing it vigorously. Don't loose your drone to these guys...
How do you get rid of jiggle. I try to fly smooth and use minimum control inputs. I still get lots of jiggle. I see these perfectly jiggle free videos and suspect it might be software?? Thanks
I am curious what kind of battery is in the WI_FI extender? Normally when I come home from flying, I charge the WI-FI all the way to green and the Drone batteries to 50% if I'm not going to be flying for a couple of weeks. If the extender is lithium metal hydride, I'm not worried, But if it's...
how many drone pilots are familiar with the Federal Avaiation Regualtions (FAR's)? I suspect few with the exception of those of us who have Pilot Licenses. Every drone flight could be and probably is in violation of any number of FAR's My point here is that with the sport/hobby in it's...
I don't know about this one. Let's say for the sake of conversation, that it was legal to fly in a national park (please note that it is not legal). The guy flew his drone over a hot spring. He did not fly it over the folks. The bird malfunctioned and ended up in the drink. How is that any...
Call the control tower on your cell. Be prepared to give them the exact place you are going to fly, the times of operations, the max altitude and your phone number. Have a pencil and paper handy to jot down their directions to you, called a clearance. They might ask you to read it back to...
