    Rotorpixel gimbal for Phantom Vision

That pretty much matches my experience.

    RotorPixel Gimbal Technical Discussion

Recalibration fixed servo travel problem I want to mention a problem and solution. RP gimbal was working fine, but started traveling WAY too far each way. The problem continued even after correctly re-setting pitch gain, Max-Center-Min etc. Keri indicated I should try recalibrating the...

    Rotorpixel gimbal for Phantom Vision

Seems to me that if you're in the US, ordering from RP NOW would get you a gimbal faster AND cheaper than from Dronexpert.

    Rotorpixel gimbal for Phantom Vision

Keri's recent post on FB mentioned that they are up to order ####3300. At this rate, by the end of the month -- probably sooner--, you'll be able to get one shipped shortly after placing the order.

    Rotorpixel gimbal for Phantom Vision

I was having this problem with the ORIGINAL gimbal on a stock P2V, right out of the box, before installing the RP gimbal. It did not behave as the first two I had purchased. The dealer told me that DJI had changed the settings to default to an angle less than 90 degrees (horizontal). I have...

    Rotorpixel gimbal for Phantom Vision

One point that seems lost in all this, and that seems very much worth noting, is that the shipments going out are for a much improved product over the already very good one that people ordered. The motors and plastic are much better. Customers are getting something substantial for the wait.

    Rotorpixel gimbal for Phantom Vision

I recently received the newer model of Rotorpixel gimbal (replacement for crashed one I originally got many months ago), and it is NICE NICE NICE. I had a question about it, and wrote to Keri. He didn't respond immediately, but he did respond in a few days. Yeah, I'm guessing he's pretty...

    Rotorpixel gimbal for Phantom Vision

As far as I can tell, the backlog is at most 466 units: the latest order number is 3406, and the highest order number shipped (that I am aware of) is 2940. That would indicate about 4 weeks from an order placed today to a shipping notice, or -- for you optimists -- as short as 3 weeks at...

Best place to buy a P2V right now?

Intelligent UAS had a Fathers Day sale with a Phantom 2 Vision for $899. That's over, and the best I've found is $999 with 4% cash back, and another $100 for an additional battery. Are there any better deals out there for immediate purchase from a reputable dealer? And if it's not about...

Phoning DJI Customer Svc: Impossible, or just really hard?

I've been trying for many days to reach DJI by phone to get an RMA. Even if I call right after they open at 9 AM PST, the call is dropped as soon as the recording finishes the "please hold" bit. This happens repeatedly, consistently, every time, any time I call. Has ANYONE been able to get...

Flying near and under metal bridges

I've flown close to large metal structures on many occasions. I'm not sure why, but I have seen the Phantom pulled toward the structure when just hovering, and the pull gets stronger the closer it gets. You need to be ready to compensate. That's the only problem I found.

    Motor caps (without props)

To protect threads when I transport, I use broken props. I sawed off all but half an inch of each arm.

37 cent landing gear extensions at Home Depot

The best landing gear extensions are your hands and arms. Just catch the Phantom. I've done it a hundred times without incident.

    Which 46mm filter?

A polarizing filter can do wonders for skies, and is a must if you fly over water.

    P2V repair in Detroit-Ann Arbor-Toledo-Cleveland area?

My Phantom Vision simply fell out of the sky from over 100 feet and of course there was damage. I'm looking for a repair guy in my area. What happened: everything was fine, I was lining up a shot looking at the phone screen, when suddenly it went from steady image to end-over-end tumbling...
