What would affect me almost losing my GPS signal, interference in the area or LOS?

Thank you so much for the feedback, I was trying to determine how dangerous the situation was but this really helps. Looking back there were a couple of things I think affected my signal, the trees (even though they were bare and slightly below LOS) between me and the bird. I was confused...

Flying my Phantom the other day at a golf course and I had the RC signal lost message pop up, lost FPV but I was still able to control it and bring it back home (via the GPS map). Here's my healthy drones report if someone can help me understand if I truly lost RC signal or just the wifi FPV...

I chalk it up to radio interference. WiFi signals, power lines, cell towers, you name it. I get this message too depending on where I am, in my subdivision, definitely, out in the country, not so much (unless there are power lines nearby.)

so everything i have read says that the windsurfer wouldn't improve the video feed distance because that is transmitted through the front of the controller and not the antenna. Thoughts?

I find that my fpv signal is fantastic when I'm in the country as opposed to the city or suburbs. I think other wifi routers that compete for a signal decreases the phantoms signal strength
