Cheap gimbals only use a 12v+ a negative and if you want it a pitch control line. The power feeding is often from the balance plug. So, you'll only need to open up the phantom if you want the pitch control (no soldering). Everything else is plug and play. I don't know how more expensive gimbals...

Probably to much weight at the back? You'll notice after liftoff that the bird flies to the rear an meter or so. I also have this because the 5200mah lipo is under the back of the quad when flying in FPV mode. When I attach the gimbal and camera again the liftoff is straight up. Never checked...

Should be good for a p1. Seen more people use p2 props on a p1. The p2 props are self-tightening and create more lift which is a bonus.
