I forgot about this post and realize I should have wrapped it up in case someone else new to flying had the same issue. Yes, it was the RC sticks that had to be calibrated... but the real lesson for me was the order in which to update. I had calibrated the sticks, AND THEN updated the craft...

So I finally upgraded everything to latest firmware. All systems go according to PT2 and RC assistant softwares plus calibration. When I went out last night to fly unit calibrated fine, home locked and 8 GPS's. Fired up fine. throttle up and... not enough power to takeoff. Back to 'idle'...

Thanks for the replies. Looks like it was sheer irony that installation was fine but simultaneously a firmware update and calibration were needed. All's good. Oh and my guys are my field production team. We have two P2V+'s and this particular 'older' (ha!) Vision that needed the axis gimbal...

Has anyone received their Rotorpixel gimbal and successfully installed and flying as expected? We received ours but my guys are saying they followed all the instructions and it won't fire motors and lights on drone not working. Of course Rotorpixel customer service is ALL OVER IT...

At time of my purchase, B&H had the best deal with extra battery. Plus, the more you buy with them the more they just keep sending those store credits ($45 credit for last purchase which I just used to buy another battery.)

Keep the flying simple until you get comfortable. I think flyoffs are directly proportionate to pushing distance limits and not ensuring proper preflight calibrations and Home set. Play it safe for a bit till you get good. It's fun (and stressful sometimes!) One comment I won't forget that...

Since I haven't experienced any problems with my Vision+ out of the box I've been scared to update firmware (after reading a few people's posts on upgrading then experiencing problems. Is there any reason to update if all is ok?? Please let me know if you've updated and everything is fine.
