Straight to P3A, but have over 30 years experience with R/C cars and such so pretty easy transition IMO.

I'm using the S7 and have had zero issues. I think the Note 5 would work just fine. Personally I just make sure to reboot my phone and turn off auto-sync and such before I fly.
