Solved. it was the dreaded USB ribbon connector from the gopro to the H3-3D. AArrrggghhh

update: actually, the tx must be pared because the red led inside the battery tray turns off, but only when it is plugged into the assistant. But no stick response at all. When I disconnect the assistant, the yellow light then flashes. Sheesshh...

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did calibrate X1, and it moves accordingly with the slider and the switch. It just won't tilt all the way down. It ends it's tilt about 3/4 of the way down.
