Sounds like the sets you have are poorly made if they break at the slightest impact. I have had some pretty rough bumps with mine, and they have held up quite well.

It's a bigger number. 5.8 > 2.4.

I believe weight distribution is also a factor. You have all of the mass in the center of the gimbal, so that could be why it is reacting the way it does.

A good hex driver and you can easily attach and remove them in a minute or so. Not too bad if you like using them. I still use them because I fly in close quarters of buildings and tress, and it can just take a strong gust of wind to push you that extra 3 inches over and bump a wall.

I suggest you just fly it stock for a while, and then upgrade as you feel you need them. Everyone's purposes and fly styles will be different.
