It doesn't always recover as fast as you think. This was a barrel roll (left stick left) I tried without enough attitude (and i panicked in the middle) - i was LUCKY to say the least: http://youtu.be/b4nmRd-uzRw
Tried it without pausing and with more altitude - success: http://youtu.be/wuzxfmZO0R4
Actually, they work just fine together and there are no limits on the distance like with the native GS built into the app. I use it frequently. You just need to buy the adaptor to plug in the IOSd into the Vision+.
The only thing I do is turn off the wifi extender once I start the camera...
I guess I am one too then. I could totally see myself doing that....
Sorry to hear about the crash, glad the damage was inconsequential, do you have video or pics that you'll post?
Howdy! Just wanted to try an experiment to see if we can actually pull this off as a group. Please post in this forum ONLY to share that you have either:
A) Received Shipping Confirmation of your Gimbal (please include last 3 of your order number and date)
B) Actually received your Gimbal...
I have the same concerns and have not seen anything i like yet. I posted here about the project i am currently running with to build my own solution. I have some ok prototypes, but i am trying to trip some weight off of it.
I KNOW this solution works regardless of how fast it sinks...
I had the exact same problem. However, I know that i caused it because as i drilled i nicked the circuit board just SLIGHTLY and it was enough to take it out.
I fixed it by buying a new extender and then removing the board completely before I drilled.
Hopefully your issue is...
I did see that, but i cannot find anywhere that has it as more than a concept. What i am looking for still is the smallest / lightest "firing mechanism". The float-a-pet shows the CO2 tank, but doesn't show the firing mechanism which makes me think it was simply a concept. I have found one...
I plan on testing in in a pool this week. From my initial tests - it looks like it deploys within about 2-3 seconds of submersion. I have yet to see how a Phantom submerges, but I am guessing not NEARLY as fast as a 5lb lead weight... I think actually think it might deploy before it submerges...
Ok - I have an EXTREMELY rough prototype. I tested it with a 5lb weight which is WAYYY more than the Phantom, but I wanted to be sure. The bladder is designed for a 12g cartridge (which floated the 5lb just fine) but I wanted to test it with an 8g cartridge to see if it floated it as well...
I might try a sustained float type of solution if I cannot get a simple recovery solution working. I just want to try and keep it as clean looking as possible. My goal is to *not* land in the water :)
Ok - i found a place that will do some custom work for me on a recovery pouch with an automatic inflator. I'll share more information on the success or failure of this (admittedly) crazy concept. I have too man planned shoots over water coming up this summer to just plan on leaving it on the...
Howdy! I have had no issues with my P2V, but as I fly more and more over water, I get some pucker-factor. Has anyone looked for / found a SMALL automatic inflation device? Maybe a pet-sized one?
I have seen people reference Getterback and the WaterBuoy, but I don't have confidence that will...
