Re: Traveling to Europe - Do I need data services for my pho I'm confused, you need actual wifi to fly the drone? I thought that's what the wifi antenna on the controller was for? I turn that on, connect with my phone to the phantom's generated wifi and I'm good.. Am I wrong when you go overseas?

So I'm traveling to Italy next week for 3 weeks. I'm bringing my bird with me and I wanted to know if I needed to pay my carrier (AT&T) the ridiculously overpriced data services while I"m there? I don't plan on using my phone to browse the web, make phone calls or anything else I normally do...

How did you end up traveling overseas with your drone? I also live in Hawaii and I'll be traveling to Europe in a couple weeks. Any advice on traveling with the drone?

I saw the aluminum mod, I may try that today definitely, but does that have anything to do with satellites? I thought that was to improve range? As far as that satellite website predictor, I checked it out but I'm in Hawaii and there is no time zone for Hawaii on the drop down.

Have you heard back from DJI yet? I have the same exact problem. I can't get more than 3-4 satellites and it's very drifty to fly so I don't take the chance. If you hear back from DJI please let me know what they say. Thanks
