    aftermarket batteries for phantom 3

Indeed, new software will prevent use of the battery. Happened to me. Rumour has it the updated battery fixes this (not user upgradeable), but in the end, not sure it is worth the very small price difference.

    Plastic antenna booster

I use a similar antenna. Did a flight out to 2.5km, signal remained full the entire time. Both control and video. Cheap, easy, effective mod.

    Client work

Bright sunshine is idea, but watch out for shadows that look unsightly. Use a higher frame rate (60P or better) as it gives you more options for slowing down footage later in case you are too fast (especially if the final product is at 30P). Keeps it all looking smoother. Given you are shooting...

Does anyone use liquid thread lock on their propellers?

NEVER USE THREAD LOCK. Compounds such as Locktite can weaken the plastic, causing sudden failure.

    Is this called unstable?

Yes that is stable. Because you care close to the ground, you notice the movements more. Go 20m up and you really wont notice a thing.

    Stupid batteries are best

The smart batteries have a built in balance charging circuit, plus a communication chip to tell the P3 the level of power and drain. It also has built in self-discharge. Much more than a simple "voltage sensor". That said, they are still overpriced. I wish you could purchase "refill" cells for...

    Bit Rate differences

reed L, I think you are confusing bitrate with frame rate. For slowmo, 60fps is ideal because you can export to 30fps, 50% speed, with zero quality loss. Bitrates are irrelevant. Higher bitrates will have more detail captured in the video. Analogous to jpg versus raw in stills....more bits...

Thread lock on props? Can it work? Should it? Bad idea? Good idea?

DO NOT USE THREAD LOCKER! Locktite can degrade plastic, causing the hub to fail and props come apart. I have experience with this on a previous quad. Phantom props are self tightening, and will not unscrew in flight.

SFOC required in Canada to film real estate?

No prob, here to help. A & B) Transport Canada clarifies all points here: Advisory Circular (AC) No. 600-004 - Transport Canada The purpose of the exemption is to ensure safe integration of UAS into the airspace, as they are already there, safely, and need rules. Basically, already being used...

SFOC required in Canada to film real estate?

Then go ahead and apply for SFOC. It will take up to 30 days. That house will be on the market and sold in 3. This exemption was made in response to real estate, because the long delays meant the videos just wouldn't happen. Built-up means dense high-rise city, not suburbs, who will be your...

    Question about backpacks

Many threads on this. Fwiw....i got a "knockoff" hardshell backpack, and it is identical to the DJI. Search my thread on this, and you shall see.

Can I safely fly at this place? my concern is the remote signal.

In my experience, you may get some drift as the compass detects the metal around it. If you fly through, it may "pull" to one side or the other. Easy to compensate for. Very unlikely you will outright lose control, especially with open air for GPS signal.

SFOC required in Canada to film real estate?

Look at 27, which provides more specific "not associated with the operation". Built up area refers more to urban/city situations, which wont be much of a market for real estate vids anyways. This exemption was almost tailor made for real estate agents wanting aerial vids or pics of their...
