The minimum recommended temperature IS in freezing temperatures. And even with warnings, I've not heard that extending a few degrees below that equals sudden catastrophic failure. Perhaps with the warning he should've hovered a few feet off the ground for a few minutes to warm the batteries up...

Still doesn't seem right to me either. The manual says "The battery should be used in temperatures of -10°C to 40°C." Was it really that much colder than 14°F where you are?

Well, this has been most helpful... while the 2mbit data rate is probably fine for non-goggle FPV, and is likely required for longer range flights, I still like the option of having a higher quality feed for closer flights. Any Canadian dealers reading this? Will there be similar deals to the US?

Ugh... that's kind of what I was worrying about. And now I read on the DJI forums that there's a difference in the Lightbridge capabilities between the Advanced and Pro; namely the Advanced tops out at a 2mbit feed datarate, while the Pro can go up to 10?

Okay, so P3S with free battery for $599 (that does seem rather good)... and P3P with free battery for $1159... any deals on the Advanced to look forward to? I'm so indecisive on going with the Standard or the Adv/Pro... I feel like I really want Lightbridge over WiFi, but that black Friday price...

I am having a heck of a time deciding between these two quads for first-time FPV flying! On the one hand I like the "all in one" nature of the V+ and do already own an iPhone, but know I'd get much better quality footage out of the Hero 3 Black I already have. I'm also finding that a Phantom 2...
