Knock on wood but I have only had positive experiences. I guess quads are still a novelty around here so folks want to come and watch you fly. I hope that doesn't change!

Other than a professional who has a separate channel to release the hook on his remote, I agree with you. Seeing as we haven't heard back from the OP, I have to assume he either got his bird out or abandoned it. I just wish people would check in and let us know what happened.

I'm wondering, with all the stuck drones, if someone could successfully operate a drone recovery service using a large quad and RC controlled grapple. Maybe there are not that many stuck drones but there have been three or four here in the past week.

There was a story in a local paper here about a drone that was stuck in a tree and another drone pilot came and using a hook attached to the landing legs was able to snag it and bring it down. I don't know what make drone the rescuer had, but I have my doubts that another P3 or P4 could lift...
