Phantom 3 Standard Dropped Out of Sky - Help!

Surely DJI could implement an immediate drop to 10 ft (or configurable) on a CSC in the air, at least that could potentially avoid any accident in the air and on the ground. Also prevents accidental activation by newcomers to the hobby.

Phantom 3 Standard Dropped Out of Sky - Help!

Wouldn't it make sense for DJI to not allow CSC when the bird is in the air, surely allowing it would be a safety issue considering you could accidentally do it and it to fall 400 ft onto someone's head.

All together lets send an email..

Perhaps the letter should just say "DJI sort out the CE signal problems"?

    Broken off S2 switch, arrrgggghhhh

Hi, Foolishly dropped my RC in the kitchen today and it landed on the S2 switch and that's come off along with a little black spring. There didn't appear to be any other bits, can this just be screwed in? I've tried a few times but not sure if it can or not. Help appreciated?

    Checking the drones firmware version

Hi, I'm sure this is a stupid question but how do you check what firmware version the drone as installed? I've got version 2.8.5 of the DJI Go application but I'm guessing this isn't the firmware version actually installed on the drone itself? Thanks in advance

    All-in-One firmware Version: v1.6.80

I haven't changed the card. I'm a little confused here since I believe you update the P3S via the DJI Go app only and not via the SD card which is the method used for the Advanced and Pro versions?

    All-in-One firmware Version: v1.6.80

Seems very strange that some people are getting prompted to update and not others. I just assumed the update would be there but nothing.

P3S robustness and what to do in a downed bird situation

Well it had to happen at some point. Just had the Phantom out and forgot how long it takes to stop at speed and realised it also had a tailwind. Smashed into 7 ft high fence, flipped, and dropped 7 ft into the lawn at speed. I saw this in super slow mo in horror, it was just laid on its back...

    All-in-One firmware Version: v1.6.80

Ok, I'm in the UK, just checked my version of firmware and its 1.5.70, there's no new firmware update, although I updated the DJI Go App a few days ago to 2.8.1. I'm surprised the version been discussed is so high compared to this, is this a US only update?

    All-in-One firmware Version: v1.6.80

Just wondering if you are all based in US, have fired up my P3S a few times but no update available. I've got the new DJI Go App since it updated automatically on my phone. Are new firmware updates put out geographically? Also should I update, sounds like there's been a few hiccups?

    Photo help....

I've attached a still from a video I made, you can see the trees on the far left seem blurred, this isn't the case though, it's due to the fixed f/2.8 aperture and the depth of field so if you see this don't mistake it for blur :-)

    Photo help....

Due to the potential movement it's probably best to use a shutter speed above 1/200 of a second, or higher if light conditions allow. The ISO is the sensitivity to light, the higher the ISO the more sensitive to light it is, shooting at high ISO's (like at night) introduces noise which can ruin...

    Photo help....

Probably camera shake due to a low shutter speed and camera movement, will look ok on a small screen like it does on the back of a DSLR unless you zoom in. Since the photo's are shot in RAW you should be able to find out what the camera settings were at the time. Sent from my iPad using...

Phantom 3 Standard comes tomorrow! How to not crash on day 1...

Fly in an area as clear as possible and take it slow, most mistakes are caused by people being over ambitious. Auto take off and land a few times to get confidence that it works, don't fly out of sight. It's worth testing the RTH function as well to give you a bit of confidence that if the...
