    iPhone XS Max

No problems here. Though last week, I would lose the video feed periodically. I switched the lightning cable (from phone to controller) and that solved it.

    Locations and being prepared

Or “Fortune favors the prepared mind.” Louis Pasteur. I first heard this quote in a film about Ansel Adams and how he managed to get one of his most famous photos - “Moonrise, Hernandez.” Best of luck in your amazing enterprise. You certainly sound prepared.

    Mexico Drone Laws in 2019?

This was posted in my message on the MavicPilots forum. It seems authoritative and encouraging. Drone Laws in Mexico | UAV Coach (2018)

    Mexico Drone Laws in 2019?

(I've also posted this is the MavicPilots Regulations forum) I don't mean to ask a question that has already been answered but I think I've read most of what is posted here and elsewhere about the "new" 2018/2019 regulations about foreign citizens flying a drone in Mexico. And I'm still not...

Could I fly my P4P at 20mph, take 100 photos per minute, and get clear, crisp results?

In good, full sunlight, I would think that getting a crisp photo when going 20mph is possible. The closer you are to the subject, however, the more motion blur you’ll get. The real issue is whether the P4P has a fast enough frame rate to allow 100 still frames in 60 seconds. The speed of the sd...

    Pictures of wooded area

This is a 5 frame HDR I shot in pretty good wind (20 mph) in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

I took 10 pictures they didn't show up

The phenomenon that I have experienced from time to time with my P4P is that I hear the camera click and don’t always get photos recorded. Why? I don’t know. The secret is to make sure you look at the screen after you take a photo to see the animation around the camera button. Also, without...

    Grainy picture?

Agree. But it’s still aspect ratio. 3:2 is full sensor and the other two take pixels away from the top and bottom. But as far as I know, the pixels that are left are the same size, regardless of the aspect ratio. I don’t think there is any up-resing or down-resing done in-camera in the P4P. But...

    Grainy picture?

I tried looking at the metadata for your photo but for some reason the ISO doesn’t show. But I’m guessing that given that you were on auto shooting in good light, your ISO would have been relatively low. If the light allows, I try to shoot at 100 ISO. I can see what you are describing and I’m...

    Grainy picture?

These numbers reflect aspect ratio, not resolution. I’m not able to confirm this by looking at DJI Go, but I think there is only 1 choice and that’s to shoot full resolution files. I’m not sure what you mean by graininess in the image you shared, but my experience is that the biggest impact on...

    What causes "The Blob"?

I see it all the time when the sun is behind the drone and the subject ding photographed. My thinking is that is a mild form of “glory,” which is an optical phenomenon. Check this out: Glory (optical phenomenon) - Wikipedia

Very Positive DJI Care Refresh Express Experience

The rest of the story: The P4P was waiting for me when I got home. I opened the boxed and found a brand new drone - no "R" by the serial number. Also included were 4 new propellers. I am working on updating things and will put it up for a short test flight soon.

Very Positive DJI Care Refresh Express Experience

The replacement drone arrived yesterday because DJI shipped it 2nd day air. But I’m out of town until Monday so I won’t get to try it out until then. [emoji52]

    New Drone Law

I was in Rapid City, SD, a couple weeks ago thinking about flying my drone at a public park. But I thought I should do a search to see what the rules might be and I came across this refreshingly progressive response on the city’s web site. “Q: Can you fly these aircraft in Rapid City. A: Yes...
