URGENT: Tighten your props with wrench

It appears it is in the newer version ESC, or that is the thinking. I have the same Phantom as you, never thrown a prop but I tighten anyway.

URGENT: Tighten your props with wrench

Steve you won't get the granularity of detail that a data logging app with internal api access will.

URGENT: Tighten your props with wrench

I would like to know how the data is reported. Specifically what api is reporting the flight information? More specifically is it one api that pulls all the data from the flight controller, or is it multiple apis that pull the information from the separate hardware? If all the data comes from...

Were you using any of the apps with logging software?

URGENT: Tighten your props with wrench

Yorlik the minutia is where the details live. I am glad to see the thread back on track. Steve the data is showing the esc doesn't always fail and cause a crash. The data shows that the esc glitch causes the prop loss and that results in a tumbling crash.

Azi I will try to Layman what yorlik has described. Not being super technical will lead to some things being not 100% correct, but I am attempting to simplify. What yorlik found was a large amperage reversal that he believes happens during high performance maneuvers. Left stock up to the stop...

    Prop upgrade Question

Got my 3 blade props yesterday. Balanced them the best I could and went for a flight. These things produce a lot more thrust than the 2 blade 9450. They will take some gain adjustment, the phantom is oscillating with these on trying to balance itself in a hover. I didn't get to play with the...

    Runaway phantom

No. At startup the bird knows it is definitely not in the air. When it has landed the quad does not know confidently that it has landed. The aircraft may still be in very calm air. If the quad was just hovering in one spot 6 feet off the ground it would not tip, it would drift rearward and...

URGENT: Tighten your props with wrench

Reversed motor should show up in video evidence? If a motor stops the rotational inertia would be 2/1 if the other motors keep spinning. But if a motor reversed it would be 3/1 which would indeed be visible during a failure. Or is the flight controller fast and smart enough to dampen the...

URGENT: Tighten your props with wrench

Yorlik thank you for the explanation. I do believe you are onto the prop loss problem. This would also explain the sudden voltage drop of batteries after only a fraction of the expected flight time. Good advice. I will be watching to see the outcome.

    Phantom Down

I have been in emergency services for two decades, either laugh about it or you will cry. [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES] Jacob the battery is good. No swelling or discoloration.

Re: Phantom Down No. I kind of wish I did. Lesson learned. I am deciding on a hard case now. Haven't found one I love yet.

    Phantom Down

Most definitely should have stayed in bed. The only up side is I get to spend some quality time with the bird. This is what we call in the south, stupid tax.
